Ask the Astrology Guy

by Jeff Pica

Dear Jeff, the Astrology Guy,

I am a Cancerian, born July 9,1962 at 6:00am, in Camden NJ. I have been a funk, both in my professional life and relationship. I feel that I am being “held back”, and need to break out of the rut that I have been in for several years. What’s the scoop here? I have had a lot of spiritual growth during this time, but still feel out of sorts. Hope you can help:)

Daisy

Hi Daisy,

Let’s take a look at your natal chart. You have two aspects in your natal chart that struggle against each other, creating friction in your life as you strive for balance between the two. The Moon in your chart, symbolizing your emotions, is in Libra, which shows that relating to other people, especially in an emotional relationship such as a marriage, is crucial to your well being. You need emotional contacts with mutual giving and receiving. The Moon is in your Fourth House, which adds your need to care for another, a very “mothering” position for the Moon. Venus in your chart is close to the planet Uranus, showing that when it comes to relationships, you need your own space, with room to breathe, literally and figuratively, and a need for spontaneous excitement. This freedom oriented approach to relationships is counter intuitive to the companionship your Moon requires. Balancing your need for connection and independence can be quite a delicate tightrope to walk.

Your Moon in Libra is in a challenging aspect to your Sun in Cancer, indicating an over-sensitivity in your emotions, perhaps a reactive emotional nature. This stems from the volatile relationship between your parents, which a harsh Sun/Moon connection suggests.

Your North Node, a position in the chart that indicates a current life path to aspire to, is in Leo, asking you to live a life out in public, not a cloistered one. An Aquarius South Node tells us that in your last lifetime, you understood yourself through the eyes of others, so now in this lifetime, to be “self” ish, to find out who you are on your own, is a path to soul growth for you.

You have a beneficial aspect in your chart called a Grand Trine, when three planets combine to form a triangle of easy flowing energy. Your Grand Trine involves your Sun, Jupiter, and Neptune, and your Ascendant, Fifth House, and Ninth House. You’re wonderfully creative, open, giving, and philanthropic at heart. You can benefit greatly living a spiritual life, one of understanding

metaphysics, or any topic for that matter that can increase your self-awareness.

Your Mars is in aspect to Pluto, giving you tremendous drive, determination, and ambition.

Now, for predictive Astrology. You have many transits that began in Spring, 2011. You’ll begin to feel their effects soon. To begin with, transiting Uranus, a powerful planet, conjoined your Midheaven. If you want to shake things up, then hold onto your hat. Uranus loves change and freedom and will insist upon both. If you haven’t felt any changes, you will. Uranus is quite compulsive and its effects can occur quickly and without warning. You can expect the unexpected in any area of your life, but most probably in your career.

Also this past Spring, transiting Jupiter made an aspect to your Sun, progressed Venus, and Ascendant, setting the stage for a new love interest to come into your life. In September 2011, your progressed Venus makes an aspect to your Ascendant, another love aspect. Perhaps something begins in Spring and is well under way by this Fall.

This Summer, your Moon received an aspect from both Jupiter and Saturn, which might have produced some up and down, or fluctuating emotions. This Summer’s been a good time to sweep out some emotional cob webs to make room for more beneficial affections to come your way.

Currently, late Summer 2011, transiting Jupiter affects your Saturn which usually corresponds to something “weighty” being lifted away, an oppressive issue resolved.

In the Fall, you have two aspects affecting your Sun and Moon, again giving you the opportunity to sweep out some cob webs, issues that no longer represent who you are.

I hope this has helped ...

Jeff
