Ask Your Pet

by Jennifer Dickman

Dear Jennifer,
I recently took my cat Pepper to a holistic veterinarian for the first time. He had an acupuncture treatment. I’d like to ask him: Are you feeling better since you saw the vet? Are you happier? Is there anything you want to tell me? How are you feeling emotionally and physically?
Thank you,
Judith

Dear Judith,

Pepper says he’s felt himself going through shifts since seeing the holistic vet. It feels like gradual waves of change building on each other. He says the process has just finished and he's now integrating the changes. The vet gave his body information it needed, and then it took some time for the information to process. I wish I could show you the images he's giving me - they look like waves of energy moving into his body and settling where they're needed, and then a new wave coming.

Pepper says he’s still processing the visit, but knows it was very good for him. He had gotten off track in many ways, mainly emotional, and now things are coming back into alignment. He doesn't feel like all of this work has finished yet in terms of manifesting change outwardly, but is feeling more “peaceful and centered”. When I ask Pepper about feeling happier he keeps saying "peaceful". To me, that certainly seems like he's happier. It might take some time before you see major changes outwardly, but hopefully you can see some improvement already.

When I asked Pepper if he wanted to tell you anything he said, "Thank you". He's very grateful that you had the awareness to notice things weren't quite right with him, and that you took him to the vet.

As for the physical, before addressing health concerns I always give the caveats that I’m not a veterinarian, not a substitute for veterinary care, and am passing along impressions rather than making a medical diagnosis. Pepper is saying that he feels a bit dizzy sometimes. I'm also feeling a bit of pressure in his head and left ear - not severe or even close to that. He also sometimes has some mild pain in his hip sockets. Other than those things, he's not telling me about any physical problems. However, I could be missing something or he could be holding something back - always check with your vet if you have any concerns.

When I asked Pepper how he felt emotionally he said, "Give me time." It doesn't seem like he's in a bad place - just asking for your patience as he works through things. He said to tell you that eventually he'll get to where you want him to be. Until then, he doesn't want you to worry about him other than continuing to take him to the holistic vet and giving him lots of affection and love. Pepper seems content with the progress he's started making from the vet visit, so I'd focus on that positive and keep following up with the vet.
Many Blessings,
Jennifer Dickman
