Divine Wisdom From Michele Livingston

by Michele Livingston

Dear Michele,

I read your column and your words are comforting and inspiring. I am writing to you because I am wondering what I should do. I am a woman in my 40’s with no history of any romantic relationships, at all! I’m highly educated (a Ph.D., two masters), compassionate and creative and have spent much of my life doing volunteer work and focusing on "saving the world." Despite my sincere intentions and many people telling me that I am extremely beautiful, romance and interest from eligible men has always eluded me. The single men that I know act as if I don’t exist, and sometimes say things to intentionally hurt my feelings. I’m actually quite content with myself and my life, but sometimes lonely because I have no one to share my enthusiasm with. I mostly, more than anything would like to have friendship. Married men are always attracted to me, little children love me, and I find it extremely easy and comfortable being with and communicating with animals. In fact, my strongest bonds are with them. Is it possible that a person’s purpose on this planet is to just do what they are doing and not to have a romantic relationship? I would greatly appreciate your response, for it has not worked in the romance department for me. Sincerely,

Catalyea

Dear Catalyea,

First you have a very rare and beautiful name! Some women do not need a husband or boyfriend to fulfill their destiny. In other words, each soul chooses a specific mission each lifetime, and they do not need a partner to be a part of it. It is wonderful to have friends of like mind whom we can laugh with and share our innermost secrets with, but this does not necessarily mean marriage. Our society today places much emphasis on having a husband and children to complete ourselves. But you said you have been busy "saving the world," and that you are content with yourself and life. Do you truly want a boyfriend or husband? Look inside yourself. Sometimes we unconsciously distance ourselves from others because of past life trauma that gets ingrained in the soul memory. It’s interesting that married men who are safe and who you can’t get close to, children who love you unconditionally and animals (who do not judge or question us) are the ones you feel comfortable with! You may unknowingly be pushing single eligible men away. One can always change the course of soul destiny. Men many times are not attracted to the most beautiful women, but it’s the woman that makes them feel special, with open and approachable personalities that they are attracted to. Timing is also important. Although I dated single eligible men, I didn’t meet "Mr. right" – my husband – until I was 40. By having some hard knocks and seeing what was out there, I really appreciated his kindness, intelligence and loyalty. In other words the timing was right. He is my soul partner. You may not be at the stage right now where you are comfortable with sharing your life. There may be trust issues hidden somewhere, from your childhood that you consciously cannot recognize. Ask yourself, "Am I really ready to be intimate with a companion of the opposite sex?" If you are, I have an exercise for you to do, for as you know, thought plus energy equals form.

Sit down with a pen and a blank sheet of paper. Close your eyes, clear your mind and take several deep breaths. Now proceed to write your full given name at the top of the paper. Next write down the following affirmation:

My heart is now healed from past relationships. I am now breaking away from any and all negative patterns of the fear of intimacy. I am now ready to attract my true soul mate, companion (or husband) for both our highest good. I want him to be eligible, willing to commit and be in love with me.

Then simply list five qualities that you want in another human being. Even though many of us are attracted to certain physical characteristics or financial security, it’s the qualities of the person that we should truly fall in love with. These may include someone who is trustworthy, dependable, stable, intelligent, respectful, honest, fun loving, a good sense of humor, compassionate and so on. Really open your heart and mind to think about these qualities, for this is the person you may be spending the rest of your life with, if you so desire.

Make two copies. One copy goes into your purse, wallet or briefcase, so your energy and intent is near the list during the day. Put the other list on the nightstand by your bed or in your pillow case while you sleep. Once a week pray with vehemence over the list. Know and believe your perfect companion will be brought to you by the universal law of attraction.

In earthly time it takes approximately 2 to 24 months to see results. I can attest to this, not only from my clients' success but my own. Two months after I made my list (with purse in hand), I met my wonderful husband on Valentine’s Day. He has every quality I wrote down, with handsome physical characteristics as a bonus!

Michele

Hi Michele,

I saw you twice at seminars and I am interested in your opinion. My precious dog is dying – she is in end stage kidney failure. She is all I live for and I can not bare to live without her. If I end my life do you think I will be with her in wherever we go after we die?

Katie W.

Hi Katie,

I empathize with your plight since one of my oldest kitties is also in the final stages of kidney failure. Life is about loving, and loving so deeply can hurt to the core, especially when there is loss. I counsel many parents who have lost children, and their grief many times cannot be consoled. A pet is like a small child, helpless, dependent, loving us unconditionally and always there for us to take care of. Although we deeply miss those we have loved and lost, love is energy and energy can never be destroyed! Our pet friends wait for us to join them in the fourth dimension, and some departed pets can even overshadow a new pet – the new pet displays the same qualities, characteristics and even idiosyncrasies as our departed pets.

Before we incarnate as humans, we choose a timeline or lifespan to learn soul lessons. There is no cruel condemnation with taking one’s physical life, as we judge our own growth in our "life review." But there are various circumstances that involve this act. For example, those who jumped out of the fiery Trade Center Towers from fear were experiencing an impulsive survival response. But those individuals who calculate a premeditated crossing over, cut their own timeline short. If their chosen soul span is 80 for that lifetime, and they end their life at 50, there are 30 years of physical life and learning to make up. In this circumstance, many souls choose to come back to earth immediately to complete their lifespan.

Although it seems so Katie, your life is not over with the loss of your pet. Reevaluate your purpose here, how you have helped others and what you still have to give. Consider getting a dog from a shelter that desperately needs your loving care, and try to move on. I’m sure your dog, if she could speak, would tell you not to hurt yourself or commit this act to be with her! I wish you all the best,

Michele.
