The Bliss Mistress Guide: How Blessed Can You Get?

by Edie Weinstein

I saw this posting on Facebook this morning and it tickled me deliciously. It was written by Jennifer Howell Gillies who seems like a kindred spirit.

“A new game I have decided to play... "How can it get any better than this?" "How much MORE BLESSED can I possibly be?" I heard this on a video a few days ago, and as a family we are REALLY ready for things to shift up a gear or two... So we manifested this little game... and WOW... the results. The trick is... to A
LWAYS keep it positive... I was going to choir practice last night and started playing... usually I keep myself to myself as for me it has been about the singing, and I have felt socially awkward, but I was in the zone... so I was open. I was excited to go so I said, "How does it get any better than this?" And then I was drawn to sit by someone I never really talked to and a few other people came over and we were able to have the MOST awesome vortexy conversations, and one was like "I am SO glad I got to talk to you." and so I said, "WOW... how does it get any better than this... “And then someone offered to buy my juice at the pub... WOW how does it get any better than this... I can’t WAIT to see how much more blessed I can be... to the universe it doesn't matter the size of the blessing, but the willingness to see and receive it. If it makes you feel good, then you are calling bigger and bigger things into being...”

I have played the ‘Blessed Game’ too. I grew up in a family that said thank you for everything. If someone gave me something, I expressed gratitude. When I said my prayers at night, I thanked the God of my understanding for things and experiences. Back then it was more an ‘in kind’ trade-off. My little kid mind figured that if I said thank you to God, then He (which is how I perceived the Divine at the time) would see fit to grant my wish….kind of like a “Star light star bright” invocation. Even when things didn’t arrive ‘on time’; according to my schedule, I still said thank you for what did show up. Now I express thanks in advance for all of the blessings I encounter, and sometimes name them and other times generically embrace them. I also use the phrase “How cool is THAT?” when a person, event or object comes into my life. What’s also fun is scattering blessings. If I witness someone with a downcast attitude, I sometimes ask what it would take for them to feel grateful for something. “What’s one good thing that happened today?” I will add? Never has someone grumped “Nothing,” back at me. Even people who have difficulty admitting that things in their lives are better than they think they are, can turn it around with a simple exploration.

I love raising the bar on the Universe, daring it to offer more, since, good fortune, like love never runs out. I believe too that we create our own luck and since we are irresistibly magnetic to the good stuff, how can the Universe help but respond to our invitation?

I have invited in perfect parking spots, money, phone calls or emails from people who I have been wanting to talk to, creative opportunities and networking unions, and they have presented themselves …ta-da! Sometimes at the speed of thought. I have found that Spirit can only deliver what we are willing to receive. Even if you have asked for something (kind of like ordering on Amazon) and even if it gets shipped and even if the Fed Ex or UPS driver comes to your door with exactly what you have ordered, you can still decide whether to accept it or refuse to sign for it. Why someone might do that is beyond me, but I have certainly done it symbolically.

So just how blessed can you get?
