Ask the Astrology Guy

by Rev. Jeff Pica

Dear Astrology Guy,

Not to presume to on your politics, but I’m figuring you too are in shock since the election?  Perhaps there’s an astrological perspective that will help?

Sending peace in the turmoil,
Susan, San Francisco

Hi Susan,

Indeed there is an astrological perspective, certainly to me. It all has to do with the coming of the new Age of Aquarius, bestowing humanity with ascended energy from the heavens.

For a long time I felt the election was going to Hillary, unfortunately the couple of days before election day I started to get very, very nervous about it. I was in shock when Donald Trump won. Wednesday, the next day, it seemed most New Yorkers stayed inside, and those that were walking the streets walked with their heads down, looking disoriented, shell shocked.

What I’ve felt from the beginning of this election season was that Donald Trump, all that he was cumulatively embodying and everything he’s come to personify now, is actually a good thing for the evolution of the United States (and perhaps the World?) because he’s started discussions, even arguments, on so many issues now that are demanding attention.

This is my perception of what’s going on.

Trump to many people symbolizes what is still ill at ease within our society. Racism. Misogyny. Xenophobia. Islama phobia. Homophobia. and on ... We’ve all seen these social issues highlighted in the media, and on everyone’s minds, allowing us, not just on a collective conscious and unconscious level, but also on a personal level, to examine our own feelings about these issues. Our societal dynamics now seem to be out, fully, on the national table, to be conversed about, thought about, discussed. (I hope all is out on the table and nothing else needs to be identified. The KKK wanted to rally to embrace Trump’s win. That’s out there.) We’ve made tremendous strides as an advancing society and we will get back to that. Growth, both emotional and spiritual, includes slipping and falling and getting back up. Awareness is a state to be embraced over and over again. In time, we can come to new understandings, promoting personal growth and evolution which will lead to a collective national growth, and perhaps influence other countries and the world itself.

As a minister with the Spiritualist Church of NYC, from 2008 for a couple of years, I lectured on “The Nature of the Soul, Ascension, and the Coming of 2012.” Over the years, I was drawn to knowledge from the Mayans and channeled sources, both from the spirit world and extraterrestrial understandings. The Mayans told us an “Age” was ending and a new Age coming. Astronomy verifies that our solar system is lining up with the center of the Milky Way galaxy, which channeled material from the spirit world reveals, gives Earth access to ascended spiritual energy, and material channeled from extra-terrestrial sources informs us, we now have access to higher, inter-dimensional light. All roads led to the belief that Humanity was coming into enlightening energy and about to take a great leap in consciousness; the Earth itself ready to grow out of its adolescence, to spiritually evolve further.

The essence of that lecture described how we are coming into the Age of Aquarius. On December 21, 2012 our Solar system fully exited the “space” in the sky we call the Age of Pisces, crossed over an imaginary border and fully entered into the space we call the Age of Aquarius. This new Age lasts approximately 2,200 years until our solar system crosses into the Age of Capricorn.

For me, Trump winning the election shows how very far we still have to go to becoming the enlightened society the Age of Aquarius promises. Issues cannot be discussed without first being identified. No societal ill can be ignored now. I remember going to a live show of “The View” when Rosie O’Donnell was on the panel. During commercial breaks, when you can ask a question, I asked for the microphone and said to Rosie that I know that some people say she’s um, outspoken. I wanted to acknowledge that Rosie, and everyone else who brings discussion to issues, should be applauded. Interesting Rosie’s name became a part of the election period.

The Age of Aquarius, exactly what they were singing about in the ‘60s, was “dawning” and yes, will be a time of harmony and understanding, simply - where everyone is equal - in all respects.

For a new Age to “begin” doesn’t simply mean that since we’ve crossed into this “space” boom we’ve arrived. There’s a need for a grand adjustment, a while for everything to “iron out.” Perhaps the Utopia we all dream for today may not arrive in our lifetime. The shift to a new Age of complete Harmony, Fellowship, and Oneness might not be in full swing until another lifetime or two of ours from now.

The important thing to remember is that we all chose to be here, now, in the physical, in this incarnation, as the souls who are helping to usher in this new evolved phase for Humanity.

Rev. Jeff Pica

Dear Jeff,

This is wonderful-- the best articulation I have run cross about why not to despair. This feels like a good description of what is going on. Hard to find my own words for it, but feels deep and good.

I have a personal interest in this. I am putting a lot of work into figuring out what should be my personal contribution to the collective. Current events can provoke strong desire to throw oneself madly into the collective, with resultant self-destruction. This is an old conflict for me--I’m of the era when the only legitimate existence was to be an activist and I’m not one.  So your statement is giving me a sense of the big picture and hope that other kinds of offerings may contribute.

Susan, San Francisco

Dear Susan,

I understand how you feel about personal contribution. To have personal feelings of community, inclusion, tolerance, all add to the collective consciousness heading in the direction history is moving in. All you have to do is live the life you want to see in the world. A “Think Globally / Act Locally” kind of thing.

I too am not an activist. I don’t like putting my views out there and yell at people to follow them. To me, everyone should try to be as open minded and aware as possible and think as optimistically as one can. I remind myself that Mother Theresa said she would never go to an anti-war protest, but would attend a peace rally. There’s a difference.

My Best,
Jeff
