Witches & Pagans Gather for Annual Samhain Festival and Psychic Fair

On Sunday, October 23rd, witches and wise folk from across New England will gather in Nashua, New Hampshire for Celebrate Samhain – a day-long festival celebrating the traditions of the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain (pronounced ‘sah-win’).

Falling between the Autumnal Equinox and Winter Solstice, the Pagan holiday of Samhain marks the close of the light half of the year and oncoming of the dark half. The veil between the mortal and spirit realms is believed to be at its thinnest at Samhain, making it an auspicious time to honor the dead and commune with those who’ve crossed-over.

For modern Pagans and witches, Samhain remains one of the most important festivals in the Wheel of the Year; one of the four “Greater Sabbats”.

This year’s festival features a number of author presentations to get you in the spirit of the season and enhance your own magickal practice. Browse must-have wares offered by mystical vendors and artisans from throughout the region. Discover what the future holds with a psychic reading from a gifted intuitive. Be enchanted by the voice of a Celtic chanteuse ormthe lilting song of a Native style flutist. Finally, close the day with a moving open ritual honoring those who have passed.

Featured presenters include:

• Deborah Blake Witch and best-selling author of over a dozen books on modern Witchcraft, including “The Eclectic Witch’s Book of Shadows”, “The Little Book of Cat Magic”, and “Everyday Witchcraft” – as well as the “Everyday Witch” tarot deck. Deborah will be presenting “Everyday Witchcraft” discussing ways to incorporate the Craft into your everyday life.

• Ellen Evert Hopman Druid Priestess and best-selling author of over a dozen books including “A Druid’s Herbal for the Sacred Earth Year”, “A Druid’s Herbal of Sacred Tree Medicine”, “The Real Witches of New England”, and “The Sacred Herbs of Samhain”. A member of the American Herbalists Guild, Ellen will present “Working with Baneful Plants for Healing and Magick”.

• Leanne Marrama & Sandra Mariah Wright Well-known Salem witches, co-hosts of The Psychic Tea radio show, and popular co-authors of books on witchcraft. Leanne is a full-time psychic medium at Pentagram, a Salem witchcraft shop she co-owns. Sandra is the High Priestess of Elphame Coven in Salem. She owns a jewelry and occult supply company – Gallows Hill Witchery. Leanna and Sandra will be presenting on the subject of their latest book, "Awakening the Crystals: The Ancient Art and Modern Magic of Gems and Stones".

• Rebecca Elson is founder, publisher, and primary writer for the website The Magical Buffet. A self-described warrior poet, spiritual mogul, and literary mercenary, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Metaphysics from the American Institute of Holistic Theology and she’s not afraid to use it! Rebecca will be moderating a panel discussion: "Witchcraft in the Age of TikTok", which will explore the pros and cons of learning the Craft through social media.

• Sancista Brujo Luis Author, witch, medium, and popular YouTuber. A practitioner of Caribbean Brujeria Witchcraft for over two decades, Luis is a medium of the Puerto Rican Mesa Blanca tradition, offering Tarot, palm readings, and spiritual consultations to the Hispanic community in Massachusetts. Luis will be presenting on "The Art of Candle Magick".

• Danielle Dionne is a psychic medium, herbalist, witch, healer and teacher. She is author of "Magickal Mediumship: Partnering with the Ancestors for Healing & Spiritual Development". Danielle will be presenting "Ancestral Living"  exploring ways beyond typical practices to engage and commune with the dead.

Live entertainment includes performances by noted recording artists, Jenna Greene and her band, and award-winning, native-style flutist, Michael Longrider. Also returning this year will be the dancing troupe, A Company of Witches.

In addition, intuitive readers – among the finest in the region – will be on-hand for one-on-one personal readings. Discover what the future holds!

Concluding the day will be an open Samhain ritual honoring those who have gone on before, led by High Priestess, Irena Stormcrow and High Priest, Valentine Stormcrow of Marlborough, NH.

Admission is $10 with donation of a non-perishable food item (or $12 without) and grants access to all the day’s events, entertainment, and vendor rooms. Food donations will be made to the Nashua Soup Kitchen & Shelter.

Celebrate Samhain will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Nashua, located at 2 Somerset Pkwy, Nashua, New Hampshire from 10am-6pm.
